About Me
My name is Tavares Rollins, & I’m the President of the (Focus Scholars/ Lady Scholars), along with the Vice President Cedric Brooks, focusing on children understanding sacrifices. The organization started in August 2016, & the two teams range from 3rd-6th grade boys/ girls. I developed the passion to become a coach because of my father who not only coached me when I played AAU basketball but also the intensity & challenge he brought to the game of basketball. I also witnessed the opportunities that it can bring along with being well-rounded in the classroom while heading to the next level after high school.
It is our pleasure to introduce to you The Focus Scholars Youth Sports Association AAU Basketball Team. FSYSA is a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit Organization. The Focus Scholars are a traveling team which focus on the fundamentals of basketball. Our athletes are taught that at the price of glory is high & the door of success is labeled “PUSH.” The mission of the FSYSA, is to promote change in behavior, produce productive citizens of society through teamwork, dedication, motivation, discipline, & hard work. We aim to achieve goals that results success.

Focus Scholars is a youth basketball program based in Central Texas, (Killeen) & we welcome players from surrounding communities including Copperas Cove, Belton, Temple, Waco & Austin.

The Lady Scholars represent more than just a basketball team—they embody dedication, discipline, and determination. As part of the Focus Scholars Youth Sports Association, our Austin-based girls’ team is committed to mastering the fundamentals of basketball while building the character and leadership skills needed to succeed in life. We teach our athletes that greatness requires sacrifice, hard work, and a relentless push toward their goals—both in the game and in the classroom.

The Focus Family is proud to announce a historic milestone—our first two players have officially committed to play college basketball. Since the beginning, our mission has been to provide student-athletes with the tools, exposure, and guidance needed to succeed on and off the court. Today, that vision becomes reality as Josiah Rollins and Brad Miles take the next step in their basketball journeys.
